History
During 2025, Hornby produced a special one-off model so that the Transport Secretary could unveil to the press the new GBR (Great British Railways) livery on a Class 800 bi-mode train ahead of services being operated by the new nationalised railway from 2026.
The newly-decorated train is now part of the Hornby range, launched to coincide with the introduction of the real trains during the coming summer. The red, white and blue livery is styled on the ‘Union Jack’ flag, just as it will be on the full-size trains.
This two-car train pack can be supplemented by individual coaches to create an authentic five-car train.
